Knee Pain

What Is it?

Pain is usually felt towards the medial side (inside) of the knee, but can be felt deep in the knee or on the lateral side (outside) and in Osgood Schlatters Disease ( a problem affecting children), it is below the knee and a lump can form.

What causes it?

There can be many causes. The most common are oseoarthritis (arthritis), injury, change in training routines and in children, a pulling force which causes inflammation.

What is the Treatment?

Many of the problems with knees can be associated with poor foot function. Wearing orthotics can help to realign the foot, therfor restoring knee alignment. In Osgood Schlatters, injury and change in training routines, rest and addressing other issues, such as training envirnments will also help.

Bespoke Orthotics can be tailor made for each individual's specific problem, but the Precision Black, available from our on line shop is also an extremely good ready made orthotic.

For specific cases of Medial Osteoarthritis, the Green Salfordinsole TM is excellent at reducing knee pain and therfor delaying the need for knee surgery. These orthotics are available from our online shop.
